Este proyecto fue uno de los más complejos para Alconza durante los años 90 debido a la normativa para este tipo de buques, así como el volumen de motores y generadores suministrado
Teekay Shuttle Tanker delivered by end of 2020 by the Korean shipyard, Samsung. It is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which means it can navigate for half an hour without any gas emissions. It is equipped with “dual fuel” generators, which can “burn” both diesel and liquefied natural gas, thus achieving a significant reduction in emissions, compared to the usual diesel engines and / or fuel oil.
- 2 x Generators of 6.144 kVA of low voltage.
- 2 x Generators of 4.611 kVA of low voltage.
- 4 x Engines of 3.800 kVA in twin configuration.
- 1 x Tunnel thruster of 2.200 kW
- 3 x Azimuth thrusters of 2.200 kW
These generators, designed for the Wärtsilä low loss concept system, have a rated current of more than 5000a, being the design of these generators unique in the market.
All this equipment was designed and manufactured in accordance with the special project specifications of the classification society (DNV-GL).
