Maerks Master

AHTS type vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, intended for anchor handling of offshore platforms and with towing capacity. This vessel is equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system, prepared for operating a ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and to work in adverse climatological zones.

Additionally, it provides on-board comfort characteristics and low emissions. It was built by Kleven Shipyards in Norway and delivered to its owner, Maersk Offshore, in 2017. It received the Ship of the Year Award (2018), presented by the Offshore Support Journal during its annual conference in London.

Supply range

  • 2 x 4.800 kVA, 690, 60 Hz main generators.
  • 2 x 2.700 kW 690 vac propulsion engines.
  • 3 x 1.200 kW 690 vac engines for bow and stern transverse propellers.

To provide the necessary towing propulsion and dynamic positioning, it is equipped with an advanced diesel-electric propulsion plant. Thanks to the combined power it achieves the highest pulling capacity (bollard pull).

This flexible system also allows the diesel engines to be switched off, allowing the electric engines to be used for navigation, thereby reducing the level of emissions, which is essential for the shipowner to comply with the strict international.
