Alconza Berango S.L., a key player in the design, manufacture and maintenance of electric motors and generators for Offshore marine applications, has recently designed, built and supplied Yaskawa Automation & Drives Corp. with 4 thruster motors. These will be rigged in an Offshore Wind installation vessel, built at the Pax Ocean shipyard for the company Penta Ocean in Japan.
These motors, designed in accordance with NKK (Nippon Kaiji Kyokai) Classification Society standards, will deliver up to 3,000 kW each at 1,200 rpm. This will provide the vessel with high reliability, efficiency and low fuel consumption levels, one of the most demanded requirements for this vessel type

Alconza’s Customer Service team provides the customer with an end-to-end and flexible solution for their full range of electric generators and motors, offering technical support, maintenance, original spare parts and training throughout the full life cycle of their products.
This is a relevant milestone in Alconza Berango S.L.’s history, considering that among its short-term goals, the company envisages different strategies towards increasing its market share in the Offshore Wind Vessel equipment.
This sector plays an important role in terms of environmental responsibility and sustainability, and is expected to further grow in the coming years given the lack and increasing global need for vessels with an installation capacity proportional to the size of the offshore windmills.
