Alconza’s Customer Service performs maintenance tasks for the renewal of the Class Survey of the BARBAROS HAYREDDIN PASA vessel in Turkey, as it already did back in 2016. This latest service completed a few weeks ago was wider in terms of scope, with the replacement of critical spare parts, as well as the performance of the sea trials.
The vessel, which is equipped with two Alconza 4,800kW propulsion motors at 600 rpm in low voltage, was delivered by Dubai Dry-docks shipyard and registered with the Classification Society in 2011. This vessel belongs to a series of seismic vessels with 3D technology, whose mission is to detect possible oil reservoirs on the seabed.
Each vessel must undergo a Classification renewal every 5 years with the aim of being seaworthy and operative in accordance with the Society’s rules. During this renewal, dry dock inspections are performed so that maintenance tasks can be conducted on the lower part of the hull, propulsion system, rudders, etc., without interfering with the operation of the vessel
During this special inspection, Alconza provides the necessary maintenance services for its equipment, thereby contributing to the renewal of the certificate and to its main objective, which is maritime safety and preservation of the marine environment.
Thanks to these periodic maintenance services, the vessel operator counts on a reliable electrical propulsion system, with no signs of deterioration or incipient failure, ensuring a high degree of reliability within the forthcoming years. This is indeed one of the most appreciated services by shipowners, especially for vessels that spend many months at a time on each exploration project.
Customer loyalty, as in this case, shows the excellent support provided by Alconza’s Customer Service team, from the recommended maintenance tasks to the use of original spare parts (On Condition), being the technical team actively involved in the execution of the dry-dock service.
