Second Teekay Shuttle Tanker delivered by end of 2020 by the Korean shipyard, Samsung. It is powered by a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which means it can navigate for half an hour without any gas emissions. It is equipped with “dual fuel” generators, which can “burn” both diesel and liquefied natural gas, thus achieving a significant reduction in emissions, compared to the usual diesel engines and / or fuel oil.
Supply scope
These generators, designed for the Wärtsilä low loss concept system, have a rated current of more than 5000a, being the design of these generators unique in the market.
All this equipment was designed and manufactured in accordance with the special project specifications of the classification society (DNV-GL).
