The main objective of this TWINPROP project is to develop a Digital Twin (DT), which virtually replicates a marine propulsion motor in order to both simulate and forecast its behavior. The DT will be built on the basis of data collection from the real motor to be replicated through different types of sensor systems. These data will be processed by Machine Learning techniques and, as a result, predictive information will be used to help in making decisions about motor maintenance.
The major purpose of the PROPCOM Project is to research, design and develop a new superconducting electrical equipment for naval platforms, which will employ a disruptive superconducting technology that will not only reduce weight and volume by 30% compared to conventional electrical equipment, but will also improve its efficiency and maintainability throughout its whole lifecycle.
