Dredgers
Alconza has been working on dredgers for more than 15 years, showing high reliability in its generators and electric motors. These vessels, normally with slow navigation speed, require the supply of a large volume of motors and generators, which have high technical requirements associated with the vibration levels that the equipment must withstand.
Noteworthy are the types of dredgers that, due to their characteristics, are equipped with powerful generators and electric motors. Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers are characterized by a high number of pumps on board and a powerful propulsion system, normally a diesel-electric solution. Cutter Suction Dredgers, in addition to suction pumps, are equipped with a “grinding wheel” that breaks the bottom and even the walls. This grinding wheel is usually driven by powerful electric motors, through gearboxes.

HUTA 12
Built by Royal IHC, and delivered in 2014, the cutter dredger called Al Bahar c/d Huta 12 has a length of 122 m, a beam of 21 m, a total power of 23,545 kW. It stands out for being a “heavy duty” dredger, with dredging capacity up to 28 meters deep, usually focused on the construction of new port terminals.
DC ORISANT
Built by Royal IHC, and delivered in 2018, the TSHD (Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger) called DC Orisant has a length of 142 m, beam of 23 m, a total power of 11,000 kW and speed of 16 knots.
